About

Our History

CASELS was born out of the desire of the Founder/ Chairman Prof. Emeritus Njidda M. Gadzama, FAS to change the lot of the people living in one of the most deprived regions in Nigeria and in the world: the people of Borno state, North eastern region. This region has some of the worst poverty indicators, illiteracy rates and mortality rates in the country.

The organization came to be in remembrance of Associate Prof. (Mrs.) Elizabeth N. Gadzama who passed away in the year 1999 in memory of her many people-oriented projects as a vet-surgeon, former commissioner of Health in the State and mass mobiliser. Subsequently an application was made to corporate affairs commission for it’s registration which was approved in the year 2004, hence the involvement of CASELS in the above activities.
